George Tsakonas (Founder)
George is a licensed advocate in Greece, a member of the Athens Bar Association since 1974 and the founder of our office.
He has studied law at the Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 1979, he obtained a Masters Degree (LLM) on Maritime and European Law at University of London (London School of Economics and University College).
Having a strong educational and professional background, George is an active member of the following organizations:
- Member of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Chamber of Shipping
- Member of the Legal Committee of the Union of Shipowners
- Member of the Technical Committee of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy
- Member of the Maritime Transport Council
- Member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Union of Maritime Law
- Member of the Hellenique Union of Maritime Lawyers
George is the Legal Advisor of the well-Known in Greece and abroad Shipowner M. C. Lemos and his companies.
He speaks Greek, English and French and has a good understanding of German and Italian.
Christina Tsakona (Of Counsel)
Christina is an international startup lawyer with professional experience in the US, Greece and Germany.
The past six years, she has been working in San Francisco, specializing on setting up international startups in the US as well as in Greece.
Christina is a member of the California Bar Association in the US and a member of the Piraeus Bar Association in Greece. She holds a Bachelor's in law (LLB) from University of Athens, Greece and a Master's in law degree (LLM) from University of California, Berkeley in International Business Law and Intellectual Property.
She speaks Greek, English, French and German.
Konstantina Stavropoulou
Konstantina is an Associate with Tsakonas & Associates Law Offices.
She holds a Bachelor’s in law (LLB) from University of Athens and a Master’s in Maritime Studies (M.Sc.) from University of Piraeus. Since 2014, Konstantina is a member of the Piraeus Bar Association in Greece.
She speaks Greek, English and French.
Alexandros Tsakonas
Alexandros is an In-House Lawyer for the Navios Maritime Partners.
He holds a Bachelor’s in law (LLB) from Democritus University of Thrace (Komotini) and a Master’s in Shipping Law (LLM) from Queen Mary University of London. Since 2017, Alexandros is a member of the Piraeus Bar Association in Greece.
Alexandros is also a distinguished canoe – kayak athlete. He was member of the Greek National Team, with many international achievements, member of the Greek Pre-Olympics Team for the London 2012 Olympic Games and he has won many Greek Championships.
He speaks Greek, English and French.
